My littlest has been dealing with pink eye and a fever since Saturday. Not good.
On Sunday night, after I put everyone to bed (and the same day the an got hit, might I add), her fever spiked and she seemed to be a bit delirious and extremely clingy and irritable. So I waited for Rodrigo to get home from work and we caught a cab to the children's hospital. The moment we get there it was as if Veronica became a whole new person.
She was joking ("mommy...boobs! Hahaha!") and laughing at the silliest things.
And what do you know... Nothing seemed to be wrong with her. The doctors said she was just fighting a virus.
But now poor Gael has pink eye. And he is not nearly as tough as that little girl. I spent all last night running to and from his room to hush his screaming and clean up gunk. Pretty, I know.
I really hope they get better soon because I'm starting to go a bit crazy...

So, over the weekend a drunk driver slammed into the side of our van. I guess we were pretty lucky that he messed up his car pretty bad also or I'm sure he would have driven away. But the guy was very nice and cooperative and I had no issues setting up a claim.
The hard part is getting used to life without a car. With 3 kids. In this weather.
Just today was so stressful. I'm not sure what I was thinking but I walked Alana to school and it wasn't until I was back home that I realized she never put her backpack on. As I make my way back to her school with her pink backpack slung over one shoulder, I notice the sky is getting darker. And then there were big cracks of thunder and it starts pouring when I'm across the street from the school!
Hopefully the rest of my week goes a lot better and the claims adjuster brings us some good news.

Fairytale Quilt
This makes me so excited!
I finished my second quilt ever. And this attempt was so much better than the first.
The front has 4 inch squares running diagonally and has a border of green triangles. The back is made of 9.5 inch squares that show off the fabric pattern beautifully. The quilt is measures 43 inches x 49 inches and is fully reversible.
I tried my hand at some straight line quilting since my sewing machine is VERY basic. I don't even think I have a quilting foot (pretty sure that's not even what it's called. Haha!) I basically sewed straight lines .25 inch from each front seam. It gives the quilt a very finished and professional look.
My favorite part of the quilt: the binding. With my first quilt, I chose to hand sew the binding and I knew that was not the direction I wanted to go. That took forever and I'm still not finished! 2 months later. So I decided to machine sew this binding after looking at a ton of different tutorials.
It took a lot of courage and pep talking but... I've listed my quilt on myEtsy shop.
